Who we are
We are a Farmington-based emergency plumbing service. Our dispatch line is answered 24/7 from 353 Scott Swamp Rd in Farmington, CT 06032, along the US 6 corridor. Nights, weekends and holidays get the same answer as a Tuesday afternoon.
When you call (860) 397-8103, dispatch asks what is happening, where you are and whether the water can be shut off. Then the job is matched to a licensed plumber and you hear what to expect. We keep it simple on purpose, because a person standing in an inch of water does not need a sales pitch.
We do not publish personal profiles on this site, and we do not post invented reviews or ratings. What we can promise is a short list of things that matter in an emergency, and you will find them below.
What you can count on when you call
24/7 emergency line
A real phone answered at every hour, for burst pipes, sewer backups, failed water heaters and other problems that cannot wait.
Licensed and insured
Plumbing work is done by licensed plumbers. We also explain below how you can verify any license yourself.
Clear price before work starts
The plumber finds the cause, explains the options and gives you the price before starting. You decide what happens next.
Same-day appointments when available
When a crew is free, dispatch can book a visit the same day. If not, we tell you plainly and do not make up a time.
How to verify any Connecticut plumber
The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection issues plumbing licenses, and you can look up any plumber on the state's eLicense site at elicense.ct.gov. You can search by name, business, license number or city, and the result shows the license type and status.
Two license classes matter most for homeowners. A P-1 is an unlimited plumbing contractor, and a P-2 is an unlimited journeyperson plumber who may work only while employed by a licensed contractor. Ask to see the license, then look it up. A good plumber will not mind.
A short checklist before any plumber starts work
- Ask for the license number and look it up on Connecticut eLicense
- Ask for the price in clear terms before work starts, not after
- Ask what permit rules apply and who handles the application
- Ask what happens if the fix does not hold, and get the answer on paper if the job is large
How pricing works
We do not post a price list, because two drains that look the same can have very different causes. A kitchen drain clogged by grease is a different job from the same drain blocked by a root in an old line.
What we do instead is give you a clear price before work starts. The plumber diagnoses first, explains the cause and the options, and tells you the cost of each. Pricing depends on the problem, how hard it is to reach, the parts needed and the time of day. If the number surprises you, ask how it was built. Each service page lists the main cost factors for that job.
Insurance is a separate question. Connecticut's Insurance Department says water damage from internal sources, such as a burst pipe, is generally handled under homeowners insurance. Wear and slow leaks are often treated differently, so read your policy, photograph the damage and keep the invoice.
What we do not do
We do
- Answer the phone at any hour
- Match the job to a licensed plumber
- State the price before work starts
- Tell you honestly when something needs a permit or a utility call
We do not
- Promise a fixed arrival time
- Handle gas leaks (leave the building and call the gas utility or 911 first)
- Fix utility mains, which belong to the water or sewer provider
- Use forms or chat widgets, because this is a phone-first service
We also do not ask you to guess at a diagnosis. Describe what you see and hear, and dispatch will ask the right follow-up questions. Our contact page has tips on what to say.
Where we work
Our home base is Farmington, including Unionville in the northwest. Farmington uses ZIP codes 06030, 06032 and 06034, and Unionville uses 06085. We also dispatch to Avon, West Hartford, Plainville, Newington and Bristol.
The full list of towns, with local notes for each, is on our service areas page. If your town is not on it, call anyway and dispatch will tell you what is possible.
How to reach us
The fastest way is the phone. Call (860) 397-8103 at any hour. You can also email contact@247plumberfarmingtonct.com, though email is not the right choice for a leak or a backup.
Our address is 353 Scott Swamp Rd, Farmington, CT 06032. The contact page has a map and a short guide to describing your problem. For the full list of what we handle, from drain cleaning to water heater repair and leak detection, see the services page.
If you smell gas, leave the building before you call anyone. Then call the gas utility or 911. We can help with the plumbing afterward.
How we think about standards
Our plumbers work to the 2021 International Plumbing Code (IPC) that Connecticut adopted in its 2022 State Building Code, and we encourage every homeowner to check any plumber's license on the state's eLicense lookup. Verification takes a minute and works for any contractor, ours or not.
